DeLorean

A CG DeLorean drives through my actual back alley, passing behind the fence posts and trash bins that are really there.

1. 01 Plate

   Shot the alley on a locked-off camera, late afternoon.

2. 02 Scene rebuild

   Rebuilt the alley in Maya to scale so the car sits on the real ground.

3. 03 Lighting

   Shadow-catcher ground plane, an artificial sun matched to the plate, and a proxy model of the pine tree outside so it casts real shadows on the car.

4. 04 Holdouts

   Rotoscoped the fence posts and trash bins in Nuke so the car passes behind them.

5. 05 Comp

   Colour-matched the render to the plate in Nuke.

6. 06 Finish

   Sound, camera shake and motion blur in Premiere.
